Note: Once you have determined that the essential oil is safe for topical application you can apply it to the bottom of the back of the paws, between the toe pads, on the stomach, behind the ears, on the tail or on the inner thigh. Avoid putting oils around the face, nose or eyes of your furbabes. Diffusing essential oils at home can be very beneficial for your pets as long as your pets have an opportunity to leave the room if they're uncomfortable. Another option is to place a few drops in a sprayer with water and gently mist the pet, depending on the condition being addressed. This technique will work well for burns, skin irritations and external infections.

SAFETY Tips For Using Oils & Furbabes

• Always Dilute. Just like with children the dilution ratio depends on the weight of the furbabes, Smaller furbabes should be given dilluted essential oils; use 2 tablespoons, of coconut oil to 1 to 2 drops of essential oils for furbabes weighing less than 30 pounds, For pets over 30 pounds, a 1:1 ratio (1 tablespoon of coconut oil for 1 to 2 drops of essential oils).
• Patch Testing: Smaller furbabes or certain breeds may be more sensitive to essential oils. Hence, patch test first. Apply 1 to 2 drops, diluted with coconut oil to the furbabes feet and monitor their reactions.
• Watch For Reactions: Monitor your furbabe after applying the essential oils for irritation or indication of GI upset, itchiness, redness or inflammation. For more precaution do not use essential oils on pregnant animals, under 3 months old, ill or epileptic. Signs to look out for: Change in sleeping/eating habits, behavior changes (fatigue, drowsiness, energy loss, dismotivation, confusion & scatteredness, muscle tremors, vomiting, constipation, diarrhea, increased salivation or drooling.
